Smokin Gunz Food Truck and Catering is seeking a reliable, responsible, experienced, team-oriented Head Chef to provide a fun and enjoyable customer experience!

Smokin Gunz Food Truck serves primarily Williamsburg, Florence, Georgetown counties and all of the surrounding areas, with growing operations in Atlanta and New York City. We're here to satisfy your cravings for homemade, finger-licking good food. Our menu includes our famous wings, smokin’ fries, fried corn and our delicious thirst-quenching Peach Lemonade. We are open Thursday thru Sunday for our standard truck operations and we also provide professional catering services. We have a selection of special menus and customizable catering packages to fit your needs, whatever they are.

Job Description:

The Head Chef is responsible for ensuring customers have the BEST experience by setting the vision and tone for the food truck operations. The candidate will be a leader on the team and work very closely with management to follow in-house policies and procedures, meeting with all health and safety procedures and requirements, and preparing food with great enthusiasm and visual presentation. Your daily routine: 

  • Set up – weekly shopping and inventory

  • Prep – ensuring all ingredients are accessible and communicating menu changes and recipes to line cook staff

  • Cook – lead by example and provide the template for success to line cooks

  • Clean – inspect pre and post operations on a daily basis, schedule and oversee any 3rd party maintenance of equipment as needed

  • Stock – inspect food storage standards and plan shopping based on anticipated volume

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Exceptional customer service for every customer order and interaction

  • Ensure proper sanitation procedures

  • Dispose of trash consistently and keep the cook area clean at all times

  • Prepare and serve food 

  • Ensure food safety standards are maintained while food is being cooked

  • Stock the truck daily with food items and receptacles 

  • Manage line cooks and shopping list/inventory

  • Professionalism as a representative of the company for catering/vendor events

  • Collaborative teamwork with manager, crew members and others

  • Drive success towards daily/weekly KPIs and metrics

 

 

Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods and withstand high temperatures

  • Restaurant/food service/food truck experience

  • ServSafe Certified (to be obtained within 2 weeks of hire)

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Aptitude for fast-paced work

  • A great attitude, enthusiasm, and energy

  • Flexible availability Wednesday thru Sunday, 30-40 hours a week

  • Driver’s license/clean driving record

  • COVID vaccination and protocol adherence

 

Compensation:

$18.00/hour plus tips. 90 days retention bonus. Immediate hire.
